The Systemic Shifts Needed for a Just Energy Transition

The Planetary Politics program at New America is an initiative “for reimagining a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable global order.” This report researches how the climate crisis and the increasing demand for clean energy technology further exacerbate inequalities between emerging economies and historically wealthy nations. “Three critical issues shape this inequity: the international financing of climate efforts, the ways companies and countries extract critical resources for renewable energy, and the ownership of crucial clean energy technology.”

While I cannot take credit for originally creating these maps, I was responsible for making refinements to its design and code. This opportunity allowed me to better understand how to build custom, advanced, interactive features in Datawrapper.
